Suzuki has announced that it will be the title sponsor of BT Sport’s MotoGP coverage in the UK for the 2016 season, which gets underway with the first round at Qatar later this week.
All 18 rounds of the championship covered by BT Sport will feature Suzuki sponsorship bumpers at the start, the end and either side of the commercial breaks throughout the coverage.
With over 200 hours of live coverage in 2016, equating to 15 hours of coverage each race weekend, the sponsorship will provide mass exposure for Suzuki to millions of fans across the season.
Suzuki will contest its second season in the blue ribband class of motorcycle racing since making a comeback in 2015, and has enjoyed a promising pre-season, with Maverick Viñales fastest in testing at Phillip Island and in the top three at the most recent test at Qatar onboard his GSX-RR machine.
Suzuki GB Marketing Manager, Rob Cooper, said of the sponsorship deal,“We’re delighted to be able to announce this deal with BT Sport for its MotoGP coverage, and we’re very much looking forward to working together throughout the 2016 season. MotoGP is not only a great arena for motorcycle development, but for marketing the brand too, and this sponsorship is an evolution of that principle. We love our racing and Grand Prix racing is a huge part of Suzuki’s heritage too, and we want to share that enthusiasm with fans up and down the country.”
BT Sport’s coverage of MotoGP will start from the opening round at Qatar from 18-20 March.
