British Eventing Champion Will Furlong has been awarded a 12-month loan of a Suzuki Ozark 250 after taking victory in the Askham Bryan National U21 Championships at this year’s Houghton International Horse Trials.
Suzuki GB has been supporting the horse trials for nine years, with last year’s prize ATV being awarded to William Fox-Pitt following his success in the CCI**. The Horse Trials, held in Norfolk, are internationally recognised in the Eventing calendar, hosting over 700 horses and more than 350 international competitors.
Will Furlong comments on his prize ATV, “I am completely over the moon to have won the ATV – it is without doubt the best prize I’ve ever won. It’s so stylish and easy to use, what more could you want? It will be incredibly useful to have around the yard, particularly for harrowing the arena. A huge thank you to Suzuki for their generous support of the U21 National Championships, hopefully I can win it back again next year!”
The prize handover took place at Ingrams Eventing’s stables, which not only houses Will Furlong’s winning horse, Livingstone II, but also Deli Star Hero, the horse which William Fox-Pitt was rider of at last year’s Houghton International Horse Trials.
Suzuki GB’s ATV Sales and Marketing Manager, George Cheeseman, adds “Congratulations to Will on winning his event at the Houghton International Horse Trials. The equestrian industry is very important to Suzuki, so we feel very privileged to be able to support both the Horse Trials, and Will Furlong. I’m glad to hear that this prize ATV will be put to good use and I’m looking forward to catching up in a couple of months to see how he’s getting on with the Ozark 250. Will has evidently put a tremendous amount of time and dedication in to his Eventing career and I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
