MKM BACK ON FORM FOR QRA ROUND FIVE
13th September 2009
Team MKM Rocketman Suzuki returned to action for round five of the QRA Quad Cross Country Championship at Hannington, Hants this weekend. After a long break between rounds’ the team headed straight back to the top; winning two classes and claiming a podium in the third.
The hot, dry and dusty track conditions did nothing to hold up Liam Ryland’s Expert Class domination as he scored yet another win on his MKM prepared Suzuki LT-R450. An impressive ride saw the young upcoming star pass many Pro Class riders, even in the early stages of the race, ending the event with an untouchable lead over second place.
The other win of the weekend was taken in the hands of the ever-improving Clubman Class racer Sam Barrett. The tight and technical woodland sections of the enduro course suited Barrett’s riding style perfectly, enabling him to build an impressive lead right from the start, eventually going on to claim his first Clubman Class win for the team.
Pro Class rider Jason Wildman was back on form after suffering a dislocated shoulder in round four. Even with a difficult start Wildman battled his QuadRacer LT-R450 through the ranks and ended the three-hour event in a solid second position.
After an exciting weekend full of great results Team Manager, Ant Deacon commented “I’m really pleased with the team’s effort, it’s always hard to get back after a long break but our ATVs ran perfectly and the guys were very happy with their set-ups. Both Liam and Sam have impressed the team with their improved riding, and are definitely ones to watch both now and in the future.”
The final championship round will be taking place on 25th October at Neath, Wales.
