Team racer Liam Ryland took his MKM Rocketman Suzuki LT-R450 to his third Expert class win at Llangrove, Herefordshire this weekend.
Round 4 of the QRA British Quad Cross Country Championship took place at the same venue as Round 3, but an extended track, running in the reverse direction was subject to equally hot, dry and dusty conditions, making it a real challenge for riders.
Ryland easily dominated on his MKM prepared LT-R450 ATV, his rapid pace through the extended woodland section saw him setting lap times to worry riders in the Pro class, giving an impressive lead by the end of the event.
In a weekend full of podiums, Clubman class rider Sam Barrett didn’t disappoint, he endeavoured through the unbearable heat to claim 2nd position, significantly boosting his overall championship position.
Proving just how capable the QuadRacer LT-R450 is straight out of the box, Scott Linley employed the power and superior handling of his Suzuki to pass many of his Stock class rivals and secure a 2nd place finish.
In the Pro class, star rider Jason Wildman re-ignited an old injury when he hit a bump awkwardly, this meant a visit to the local hospital and ultimately resulted in a DNF. Oli Sansom endured the 3-hour race and despite the difficult riding conditions prevailed to a 9th place finish.
Team manager, Ant Deacon commented, “We had great results this weekend, the conditions were causing over-heating problems for some teams but our Suzuki ATVs were faultless. Wildman’s injury was a big blow to his title challenge but he has time to recover before the next round.”
Team MKM Rocketman Suzuki continue their season at Round 5 in Powys on the 19th July.
