THREE PODIUMS FOR MKM ROCKETMAN SUZUKI

Tue 16 June 2009

Team MKM Rocketman Suzuki dominated the podiums at the QRA Quad Cross Country Championship in Llangrove this weekend, taking 2nd place finishes in the Expert, Clubman and Stock classes.

The circuit at Llangrove, Ross-on-Wye was very dry and conditions worsened with the high temperatures during the 3-hour event. With a long lap through a mixture of open fields, streams, marshland and woodland it was a challenge for machine and rider alike.

In the Pro class, star rider Jason Wildman just missed out on a podium with a 4th place finish, despite posting the second fastest lap time of the weekend on his Suzuki QuadRacer LT-R450, clocking just 8 minutes 15 seconds around the 6-mile enduro course. Oli Sansom also battled through the exhausting heat to claim his best Pro class finish so far this season with 7th place.

Liam Ryland continued his Expert class campaign on his LT-R450 and secured a great 2nd position by the end of the race, good enough to see him stay at the top of the championship standings after three rounds.

The second podium of the weekend came after an impressive race from Sam Barrett in the Clubman class. Consistently quick lap times and a good pit stop on his 2009 QuadRacer 450 meant that Sam came away with 2nd position, well deserved after a troublesome start to the season.

Scott Linley took his stock QuadRacer LT-R450 to his third consecutive 2nd place finish, giving the youngster an impressive record of three podiums in three races in the Stock class.

Team Manager Ant Deacon summarised the weekend, “Although the conditions were dry and exhausting for the riders, it was an excellent venue and the ATVs ran perfectly through the heat of the 3-hour race. I am very pleased with the amount of podiums we achieved this weekend, and all the team finishing in top ten positions is fantastic!”
