Relentless Suzuki Youth Academy riders James Dunn and Luke Dean were back out in action once again at the weekend, this time seeing the pair competing at opposite ends of the country, with yet more podium visits for the RM85 riders.
With Dunn competing in the Elite Youth Cup near Whitby in Yorkshire and Dean at the BSMA championship round at Tiverton in Devon, it would be Dean who would come out of the weekend with the greatest success, scoring no-less than four race wins and one second place finish to go through to the BSMA finals taking place in August.
With Dunn on-board the small wheel RM85, it would be back luck that would put the dampeners on his race weekend after a big crash due to another riders error in his first race, left him fighting back to an eventual well-earned 11th place. Normal service resumed throughout the rest of the event to see another pair of fine first place finishes, to see him leave the event second overall on the day, still maintaining a considerable championship lead.
Talking about the weekend’s results, team coach Paul Butler commented, “Congratulations to James and Luke. Despite the great success they’ve achieved, they have also remained consistent, shown clearly in their championship standings respectively. Good luck to both for their upcoming races next month”
