The Adriatic coast is not a place you would normally associate with grey skies and fog, but for the press attending the International launch of the new GSX-R600 that’s exactly what they were met with today as they got ready to put the new bike through its paces at the Misano racetrack near Riccione in Italy.
With dense fog covering the circuit, this morning’s first riding sessions were delayed until after lunch, and by 13.00 the conditions had not improved greatly.
However, with three sessions completed this afternoon, the early press reaction has been positive. T.W.O Magazine tester and ex-British superbike champion Niall MacKenzie was impressed by the new bikes ease of use and improved feel from the revised engine, commenting, “The new motor spins up very easy and feels very linear. I’m impressed with the brakes and the overall balance of the bike”.
With further testing scheduled for tomorrow, the UK press will be praying for a change in weather conditions for the final days ride.
