RICHIE WORRALL TAKES ELITE YOUTH CUP CROWN!
Sep 2007
The last round of the outdoor Elite Youth cup series was held at Culham Park in Oxfordshire at the weekend, with Suzuki rider Richie Worrall looking to take the big-wheel 85cc championship title.
With a 35-point gap between Richie and the current championship leader James Hutchinson, Richie was going to have to dig deep if he was to leave Culham with the 2007 title.
The first three races of the weekend went like clockwork for the RM85 rider. Keeping the chasing pack at bay Richie would take the win in each race. But it was to be a tougher and higher pressured fourth race for the Moto X backed rider as nothing less than a win would give him the title.
Another good start saw the young rider settle into his familiar top pack pace, and one that he would hold to the chequered flag to take the win and importantly the 2007 championship title.
Speaking after being crowned champion, Richie commented, “I cant believe it! I’ve worked so hard for this, and I just want to thank everyone who has supported me this season and before. I hope I’ve made them all proud”.
