Suzuki GB have announced the launch of a new online service that allows dealers, owners and prospective owners of Suzuki ATVs to check their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) against a database of officially imported models.
This new initiative was originally designed to raise awareness of unofficial grey imports being sold in the UK, which don’t have free EASI training, 2 year warranty or the support of a fully trained and accredited dealer network that come with official UK Suzuki ATVs.
Particularly relevant to utility ATVs is the legal requirement under the Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 to use CE marked equipment. If your ATV is not an official import there is no guarantee that it is legitimately CE marked which could place operators at risk for future liability claims from employees in the workplace.
The most obvious benefit of the VIN checker is the ability to verify if a machine is an official UK model and also to clarify the exact model and colour it was registered as. The system is updated weekly, so you can rely on up-to-date information, making it great for prospective buyers of utility and sport Suzuki ATVs.
The system is very easy to use, simply locate the ATV’s VIN either on the frame of the machine or on the vehicle documentation if available, and click here
